We've all heard it at church or at a bible study (and if not, PAY ATTENTION while reading it)..."Whatever your mind is set on will fuel your behavior/actions/emotions/etc.!" This morning as I was thinking of my crazy upcoming 45 days (which includes planning and leading a 2-week long mission trip to Colombia, a 4-day long village visit this upcoming weekend, purposeful meet-ups with my disciples, officiating my first wedding, planning my 10-day trip back to California, launching a small graphic design/logo online company, planning my 3-day solitude sabbatical up in the Oaxaca mountains, scheduling Crossfit hours, envisioning my daily times with the Lord; and last but not least, investing relationally in my marriage). I was confronted with the most Powerful mindsets that lowers my stress levels and increases my Hope, Peace and Persevering Levels. 1. God is Love.I realize that the most anchoring reality that flows through my mind is that God is ALWAYS loving whether I do or don't see it, think it or feel it. Everything He is, and allows, is the BEST most loving expression of His love for me in the moment. And I realized that not wondering in the other possibilities (which I am sure we've all been there), of the "what ifs..." and "if only..." is actually an act of faith and a healthy boundary to have as we bring every thought captive into the obedience of Christ (2 Corinthians 10:5; 1 John 4:8). 2. God is Good.God always operates out of His sovereign Goodness. Never is there a moment where He allows things to occur and not have a GOOD outcome birth out of it. While getting caught in the process can seem that no good can come out of a situation or a "valley low" experience, God will work all things together for GOOD (Romans 8:28; Psalm 136:1). 3. God is Moving. If we were to look back in our past, we could find God's fingerprints all over our good times and our not so comfortable times. He is the craftsman of our lives. He has chosen us and has empowered us to choose our will and to partner with Him in this experience called LIFE. He is moving us into a place of wholeness, fullness, complete dependance and a willful and voluntary abandonment of ourself so that we can grab a hold of Him (Isaiah 64:8, Deuteronomy 31:6). 4. God is Able. When I am unable to do things, I rejoice in it. Realizing that God is the one that can hold the title of "ABLE" brings comfort because it releases me from the heavy yoke of trying to do things on my own strengths. It literally propels me to access my inner man (to the Holy Spirit) who is REALLY the one that enables me to do pretty much everything (Ephesians 3:20; 2 Corinthians 12:9). 5. God is Finisher.God is going to finish what He has begun. He never leaves things half way done. He is not a teaser, He is the ONE that will finish the Good work He has begun in me and in others (Philippians 1:6). It is not I, BUT Him who is way more committed than I am to myself, to what he has entrusted me with (ministry) and to those He has placed under my care. All things are His first, then mine (1 Timothy 1:12). 6. God is Grace.Embracing my new identity in Christ truly is a game changer for the simple reality that as a child of God, everything I get or happens to me is automatically far greater than what I "deserve". It is God's gift for me to receive (not achieve) and delight (and not be frighten). As I choose to yield to Him and walk FORWARD with Him, there really isn't anything to be afraid of, but rather, I am injected with faith (Ephesians 4:7;Galatians 3:26). Remember, 1 Corinthians 2:16 exposes the reality that YOU now have the mind of Christ, hence enabling you to think like Him and to see things His way! A change of filters in life is often the most practical and impactful step of faith for one who is now FOUND in the ONE! Blessings.
